Marcia Brady had it all - style, looks, boys, brains and talent. Girls across
America wanted to be Marcia. Boys wanted to date her. But what fans didn't know about the always sunny, seemingly perfect blonde beauty was that off the screen, the young actress who played her, Maureen McCormick, was living a very different - and not so wonderful - life.
Here's the Story is her deeply honest, explosive memoir. McCormick gives us a behind-the-scenes look at her time on the series and reveals what happened off-screen and after the series ended. She discloses the devastating effects of a dark secret her mother tried to keep until near the end of her life, and also how that affected her relationship with her parents and five siblings, including a mentally disabled brother with whom she was very close. Eating disorders, a nearly fatal drug addiction, serious depression, and a lifelong battle to overcome the ideals of perfection contribute to the unflinching portrait she paints of herself as a survivor.
A tale of adversity filled with hard earned wisdom, hope,
Here's the Story shines a spotlight on a brave and honest woman whose ultimate triumph is an inspiration for us all.
