National Tap Dance Day
Sunday, May 25

Celebrate National Tap Dance Day 2008 at Mall of America with Minnesota's own tap school, Keane Sense of Rhythm!

In 1989, Congress passed a bill declaring May 25 - National Tap Dance Day. The date was chosen was appropriately chosen because it was the birth date of Bill "Bojangles" Robinson - a great contributor to the art of tap dance. Since then, tap dancers all over the U.S. celebrate the multifaceted art form of tap dancing and its role in the cultural heritage of our nation.

Keane Sense of Rhythm (KSR) will showcase a variety of performances from local professionals and students of all ages. KSR has a mission to preserve, present, create, and expand the boundaries of American Tap Dance. This mission is accomplished through education, creation of new works, performing, presenting tap events, collaborating with other artists, and investing in talented youth.

Come and enjoy live tap dance performances presented in a historical context!  Check out www.tapcompany.org for additional information.
