Sponsored by Minnesota Music Teachers Association and Schmitt Music, MusicLink Playathon features student performers who are raising money to benefit the MusicLink Foundation, a national non-profit, which strives to bring musical instruction to children in need. Students of all ages and levels will perform throughout the weekend on a variety of instruments demonstrating their love of music and their generous spirit in helping to bring the gift of music to those children unable to afford lessons. Emcees include local musician Joe Filipovich, singer/songwriter Annelia Anderson, reigning "Miss Minnesota's Outstanding Teen", Rachel Weyandt and 2010 Miss Minnesota, Kathryn Karg. A Popular Styles Hour will take place Saturday evening showcasing students of the jazz, rock, pop genres accompanied by "The Katzen Jammers" a local combo led by local musician, Doug Rohde. Make sure you stop and see all the talented musicians!
