Hey Diddle, Diddle, Help Solve the Food Riddle! Join us for the Annual Food Allergy Awareness Walk beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday, March 22 at Mall of America®! This year’s walk will feature entertainment by the Splatter Sisters and will offer refreshments that accommodate those with food allergies. Register day-of or visit http://www.minnesotafoodallergy.org/ to register online.
Proceeds from the Food Allergy Awareness Walk will go to the Anaphylaxis and Food Allergy Association of Minnesota (AFAA). AFAA is a Minnesota 501(c)3 non-profit organization with school, restaurant and medical policy accomplishments (including universal epinephrine availability in Minnesota ambulances; immediate access to epinephrine for allergic students in schools; and assisting in obtaining a $6 million increase in federal research funding); allergen-free activities for children and families (including the only food allergy camp in the U.S.); and widespread educational outreach efforts that reach more than 20,000 people in person per year.
Misty Copeland is the first African-American soloist in the last two decades at the prestigious American Ballet Theatre. In her beautifully written memoir, Life in Motion, Copeland paints a vivid picture of her nomadic, at times painful, past. Life in Motion is a multilayered memoir that transcends the boundaries of the traditional ballet biography—it’s not just a ballerina’s story, but instead a unique American story of perseverance and achievements in the face of adversity. We hope you can join us for this special event!
