  1. Twin Cities Public Television Presents an Exclusive Screening of American Promise

    TPT presents an exclusive community screening of American Promise followed by a discussion and book-signing event with filmmakers Joe Brewster and Michèle Stephenson. American Promise is the winner of the 2013 US Documentary Special Jury award at the Sundance Film Festival and an official selection of the 2013 New York Film Festival. The film spans 13 years as two middle-class African-American boys from Brooklyn, N.Y., navigate one of the most prestigious private schools in the country. Chronicling the children’s divergent paths from kindergarten through high school graduation, this provocative, intimate documentary presents complicated truths about America’s struggle to come of age on issues of race, class and opportunity.     Would you WALK to find a cure to an incurable brain condition?

    Join us for the Hydrocephalus Association Twin Cities 5th Annual FUN WALK.  Engage in activities and entertainment along the route, celebrating those who are impacted by hydrocephalus, an incurable condition that is the leading cause of brain surgery in children and affects 700,000 seniors in the USA.  Learn about the current research being done to eliminate the challenges of hydrocephalus.  Donations support essential research and educational resources for those impacted by the condition. Register online at  http://www.HAWALK.kintera.org/Twincities
