  4. Let's Kick Hunger

    5 a.m. - 7 p.m.

    News Radio, 830 WCCO, Taste of the NFL, General Mills, Land O’ Lakes, AgStar Financial Services and Second Harvest Heartland present the sixth annual Let’s Kick Hunger Day Radiothon—a day-long event to benefit Second Harvest Heartland. A record 1 in 10 Minnesotans—and 1 in 6 Minnesota kids—is are at risk of going without a meal on any given day. Let’s Kick Hunger Day will raise crucial funds to provide more meals to those children, working families and seniors right here in our community through Second Harvest Heartland.

  9. American Heart Association: Go Red for Women

    The American Heart Association launched Go Red for Women to raise awareness and help women take preventative action to reduce their personal risk factors for heart disease. Nearly 460,000 women die annually of heart disease, about one woman every minute - more than the next four leading causes of death combined, including all forms of cancer. The media and general public are invited to attend free activities at Mall of America in honor of American Heart Month. Learn about risks for heart disease and how to take action to live healthier.   15. JDRF One Walk, formerly JDRF Walk To Cure Diabetes

    The JDRF One Walk is a fun-filled event with excitement around every corner. Walk for an hour with no set distance and come back to the rotunda for a hopeful celebration.   19. Walk to Cure Juvenile Arthritis

    Join us for the Walk to Cure Juvenile Arthritis (JA). Registration begins at 7 a.m., and the walk begins at 8:15 a.m. The Walk to Cure JA is an event to raise funds and create awareness to fight juvenile arthritis.   20. Dance with Courage

    Sunday, March 8
    1 - 3 p.m.

    The Dance Arts Centre will be hosting the 9th annual Dance with Courage Dance-a-thon! Hundreds of local dancers will participate to help raise money for True Friends, a non-profit organization focused on providing life-changing experiences that enhance independence and self-esteem for children and adults with disabilities. So far, Dance with Courage has raised over $110,000 and their goal is to raise $20,000 at this year's event. There will be an opportunity for the public to join in on some fun social dances and see performances by the Vikings Cheerleaders and Dance Arts Centre's competition dancers. Campers will also be on hand to talk about their experiences with Camps of Courage and Friendship.
