Mall Of America Press Release

Community Commons at Mall of America® reopens with new group of local businesses

The unique retail space helps local, minority-owned businesses build their brand and forge their futures

BLOOMINGTON, MN— April 7, 2021

Community Commons at Mall of America® has reset with a fresh mix of new businesses and locally sourced merchandise. This next chapter at Community Commons features the following local, minority-owned brands:

  1. A&D Creations
  2. Arway
  3. Biftu’s Blends
  4. Boga Balloons
  5. Created to Create
  6. DAUREN
  7. Ebony Gifts
  8. Love Disorder
  9. Love My Natural
  10. LVLS House of Hoodies
  11. Regin Love Collection
  12. Silk Road Wellness

The new businesses entering the space benefit from no rent for the initial three months, allowing these entrepreneurs the opportunity to get up and running. After three months, they have the opportunity to remain in Community Commons with percentage rent.  After this six-month period brands will have the opportunity to open an independent space with Mall of America.

Additionally, the success from the first round of Community Commons businesses has led to the following local businesses opening their own, independent spaces within Mall of America. Each of these businesses were part of the initial class of brands inside Community Commons when it first opened in October 2020 and have now signed independent leases to continue building their brands.

  1. Fabulous Diva Boutique (South 270)
  2. 4 the Love (West 387)
  3. F. Sherrod Gallery & Studio (West 382)
  4. Herbal Alchemy (West 292)
  5. Llakta (South 282)
  6. Urban 29 (South 220)

Moving forward the mission of Community Commons remains to foster the growth and success of local, minority-owned businesses. The space will continue to feature a revolving group of retailers and brands, giving them the opportunity to test their concepts at Mall of America with the hopes of creating successful, long-term partnerships.

Community Commons is open on Level 2, South at Mall of America. The businesses in the space benefit from the continued in-kind support from the award-winning team at KNOCK inc., a full-experience creative agency who uses people-focused design to build love and loyalty for brands.
