BLOOMINGTON, MN – September 12, 2022
After a two-year hiatus, Mall of America® is excited to bring back the star-studded runway show featuring fan favorite alumni designers from the hit reality show “Project Runway” on Friday, Oct. 7 in the Huntington Bank® Rotunda. This year’s event will be ticketed, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting Be The Match, our 30th birthday community partner.
The Curated Style: Straight from the Runway fashion show brought to you by Suzhou Tourism, will feature exclusive FW22 men’s and women’s collections from designers including:
- Christopher Straub (Season 6)
Straub, local to Minnesota, won the nation’s heart as the fan-favorite fashion designer from Season 6 of “Project Runway.” Following his appearance on the television show, he has continued to design apparel, handbags, fashion accessories and home décor. Inspired by the elemental, Christopher’s signature is photo-realistic prints and whimsical design.
- Joshua Christensen (Season 9)
Christensen was a contestant on Season 6 of “Project Runway.” He has been designing in the Los Angeles market for over six years, working as a designer for Guess Inc. and dressing top celebrities. Joshua is currently working on new labels both personal and for other companies.
- Korto Momolu (Season 5)
Korto was on Season 5 of “Project Runway” and the 1st runner up. Her collection is a celebration of ‘my newly released freedom from thyself’ and inspired by her African roots.
- Garo (Season 17)
Was a contestant on Season 17 of “Project Runway” and has been a highly celebrated fashion house conceptualizing, designing and collaborating with Hollywood A-listers such as Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Doja Cat and Lizzo to name a few.
- Mondo (Season 8)
Mondo was a contestant on Season 8 of “Project Runway” and won the debut season of Project Runway All Stars. He continues to grace the main stage of Ru Paul’s Drag race designing show stopping looks for some of the biggest drag artists in America today.
- Viktor Luna (Season 9)
Viktor was on Season 9 of “Project Runway” and discovered fashion design at the age of 7 through his mother, a talented seamstress who studied and mastered pattern making. A trained photographer, he brings elements of nature and his summers spent on the Mexican Riviera + the urban energy of New York City to his designs.
- Kelly Dempsey (Season 14)
Kelly was a contestant and finalist on Season 14 of “Project Runway.” A self-taught designer who got her start turning thrift store finds into gold, Kelly’s recent collection is inspired by her love for the 90’s and says she always tries to make an effort to source her materials from items already in existence.
- Marquise Foster (Season 18)
Marquise is a self-taught artist who taught himself sewing, construction techniques and everything related to making his own clothes. His designs have been featured in many magazines and on several celebrities.
The show will also feature a half-time performance by Bailey “BailRok” Munoz, the winner of “So You Think You Can Dance” (on FOX) season 16. He currently dances on the show “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.”
